Various Artists/Bands in 1980's - Various – Video Aid - The Feed The World Compilation/ Many "Greats" Of The Music Industry For A Geat - LP - Laserschijf - 1990

Various – Video Aid - The Feed The World Compilation Laserdisc, 12", NTSC LaserDisc, often stylized as Laserdisc, was a home video format that was popular primarily in the 1980s and 1990s. It was one of the earliest forms of optical disc storage and playback technology for video. LaserDiscs were 12-inch optical discs that stored analog video and sometimes digital audio. They offered better video quality than VHS tapes, the dominant home video format of the time, and were often used by videophiles and enthusiasts who wanted the best possible home viewing experience. However, LaserDiscs never achieved mass-market success due to several factors, including their high cost, the need for special players, and the inability to record onto the discs. Additionally, the introduction of DVD technology in the late 1990s quickly surpassed LaserDisc in popularity, leading to its eventual decline and discontinuation. Despite its relatively short lifespan, LaserDiscs left a lasting legacy as an early precursor to modern optical disc formats and as a niche favorite among collectors and enthusiasts for its unique features and collectibility. Various – Video Aid - The Feed The World Compilation - is a charity project released in response to the Ethiopian famine crisis in the mid-1980s. It was a follow-up to Band Aid's successful charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?", which aimed to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The Video Aid compilation contained a collection of music videos from various artists who took part in the campaign. These videos were often accompanied by messages encouraging viewers to donate to famine relief. Although the Video Aid project did not have the same success as its predecessor "Do They Know It's Christmas", it played an important role in raising awareness of the hunger crisis and raising funds to support relief efforts in Ethiopia. The project has shown that music and media have the ability to mobilize support for humanitarian causes on a global scale.
