DESCRIPTION The Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II is the lens that has introduced more photographers to fast glass than any other. Its six-element Gauss design is genuinely excellent — sharp from F2.8, with the shallow depth of field and low-light ability no kit zoom can match — in a body that weighs only 130g. It mounts on every Canon EOS camera ever made, film and digital, full frame and APS-C, where it becomes an 80mm equivalent portrait lens.
