Massive handgefertigte Eichentruhe aus der Zeit um 1800 (vermutlich Norddeutschland oder Niederlande).
Die Truhe besitzt handgezinkte Eckverbindungen, eine reich geschnitzte Front mit charakteristischem Schindel- bzw. Fischschuppenmuster sowie originale handgeschmiedete Eisenbeschläge. Das originale Kastenschloss ist vorhanden, ebenso der passende Schlüssel.Das Schloss funktioniert.Im Inneren befindet sich das typische Dokumentenfach.
Die Oberfläche weist eine schöne, gewachsene Patina mit altersbedingten Gebrauchsspuren auf. Deckel und Korpus sind stabil. Risse, Abrieb und Korrosionsspuren entsprechen dem hohen Alter und unterstreichen die Authentizität des Möbels.
Ein dekoratives und zugleich historisches Möbelstück mit vielfältigen Verwendungsmöglichkeiten, beispielsweise als Decken-, Wäsche- oder Vorratstruhe oder als außergewöhnlicher Couchtisch.

Antique Oak Chest with Original Wrought Iron Hardware and Key, circa 1800
Large handcrafted solid oak chest dating from around 1800, probably of Northern German or Dutch origin.
The chest features hand-cut dovetail joints, beautifully hand-carved front panels with a traditional fish-scale pattern, original wrought iron handles, and the original lock with matching key. Inside is the characteristic document compartment found in period storage chests.
The surface retains a beautiful authentic patina acquired over more than two centuries. The chest is structurally sound. Age-related cracks, wear, oxidation of the iron fittings and other signs of use are consistent with its age and add to its authenticity and historical character.
A beautiful decorative and functional antique, suitable as a blanket chest, linen chest, storage chest or even as a distinctive coffee table.
