Opis od sprzedawcy

Rare Blue & White Porcelain Footed Dish (Tazza) – China / Annam, 17th-18th Century.

Description:Up for auction is an authentic, archaic porcelain footed dish (tazza), decorated with underglaze cobalt blue in the classic Blue and White style. The interior and exterior are adorned with a dynamic, rarely seen geometric-botanical pattern of ritual character, highly characteristic of provincial kilns in Southern China (Zhangzhou / Swatow) or ancient Vietnam (Annam). The vessel is entirely hand-thrown on a potter's wheel, as evidenced by the distinct throwing lines visible beneath the glaze. The unglazed footrim reveals a coarse, highly-fired body with natural iron oxidization spots. Inside the hollow foot, original firing/contraction cracks are present, entirely covered by the authentic, celadon-tinted glaze, proving its historical manufacturing process.

Condition Report:Very good condition for its significant age (approx. 250-350 years old). The dish retains an excellent, clear metallic ring when tapped, confirming its structural integrity. There is a superficial hairline crack extending from the rim and a microscopic flea-bite/chip on the bottom rim of the foot, neither of which affects the stability or display value of the piece. No restorations.
