An outstanding and complete, intact symmetrical pair of imperial Chinese ink and mineral pigment masterworks on rare, translucent 'cicada-skin' Xuan paper (蝉衣宣). These prestigious paintings depict the legendary deified Tang Dynasty commanders and military Door Gods (Menshen): Qin Qiong (秦琼) and Yuchi Gong (尉迟恭), executed with superb definition in the finest Gongbi court style.

Condition & Noble Provenance:Acquired from an elite private collection in Denmark. The mineral color palette remains remarkably vibrant, fresh, and gallery-worthy. The margins exhibit noble, age-appropriate signs of time (light foxing and handling creases). On one sheet, well outside the main subject, there is a stable hairline surface separation of the paper fibers (micro-fissure), an authentic characteristic of antique paper, with absolutely no impact on the overall visual magnificence.
