This piece is an authentic original one-of-a-kind Japanese animation cel, hand-painted by studio artists at Studio Ghibli and used directly in the creation of the animated feature film Porco Rosso.

As an original production material, this artwork is unique, with no duplicates in existence.

Created for internal studio use under the direction of Studio Ghibli during the original theatrical production period of Porco Rosso in 1992.
A Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase.

This original animation cel features Porco Rosso (Marco Pagot) in a dynamic aerial cockpit scene, capturing the film’s signature sense of motion, mechanical detail, and cinematic framing. Production cels from Porco Rosso are especially sought after due to the film’s hand-painted aviation sequences and its status as one of Studio Ghibli’s most celebrated works.

This item is presented interleaved with MicroChamber paper, an archival material used to protect artwork by reducing harmful acids and paint fumes which damage animation cels over time. We are currently the only seller in Japan offering anime cels presented in this manner.

Please note that this is a vintage item. Despite careful storage, age-appropriate wear or other minor imperfections may be present. Buyers are encouraged to examine all images carefully prior to bidding.
