For sale is a lot consisting of two (2) Banque de France banknotes with a denomination of 1000 francs, type "Goddess Demeter" (Déesse Déméter type 1942). These banknotes were issued into circulation between 1942 and 1944.

Design Features:
The obverse (front) side of the banknote depicts a seated statue of Demeter with the infant Hercules on her lap. To the left is a Provençal landscape with a shepherd and goats.
Condition:
Both banknotes show signs of circulation, as visible in the photos (e.g., folds, yellowing). Banknotes of this type that are uncirculated (UNC) can be worth significantly more. Please examine the attached scans carefully to assess the exact condition.
