Middelalder Bronze Ring - med en kuppelformet rød sten (Ingen mindstepris)

Material : Cast bronze ring set with a domed red stone cabochon (likely carnelian or red chalcedony) Description An authentic Byzantine to Eastern Mediterranean medieval bronze ring featuring a prominent high-domed red stone cabochon set within a lobed crown-style bezel. The bezel is formed with rounded petal-like projections creating a floral or battlement appearance, characteristic of medieval Eastern Mediterranean craftsmanship. The shoulders are decorated with elegant open scroll motifs terminating in circular volutes, giving the ring a refined yet provincial aesthetic. The ring is cast in solid bronze and has developed a stable green archaeological patina with natural surface encrustation consistent with age and burial. The red stone, likely carnelian or red chalcedony (not laboratory tested), shows surface wear and mineral deposits consistent with long-term antiquity. It remains securely set within the bezel. The overall form and decorative elements are consistent with Byzantine and Eastern Mediterranean medieval jewelry traditions of the 10th–13th centuries AD. Measurements Weight: 3.38 g Inner diameter: 17 mm Approx. EU size: 53–54 Approx. US size: 6.5–7 Material: Bronze Stone: Domed red cabochon (likely carnelian/chalcedony) Condition Good medieval condition. The ring shows expected age-related wear, stable green patina, and minor surface irregularities. The stone displays natural weathering and burial deposits but remains firmly set. No modern repairs observed. Provenance From a European private collection, formed in the late 20th century. A provenance statement and declaration of legal origin can be provided in PDF format upon request.
