Kinga Makowka - If You Could See Me Now

Kinga Makowka is a Polish-born, Yorkshire-based artist and graduate of Leeds Arts University. Her work explores the emotional terrain between memory and presence, stillness and sensation. Working primarily on raw linen and cotton canvas, she builds her paintings in multiple opaque layers. Using soft pigments, rich textures, and metallic details, her pieces seem to catch not just light, but time itself. She does not aim to capture a specific physical place, but rather a fleeting moment, a feeling. Much of her work is rooted in personal reflection. Drawing from family rituals, the quiet of nature walks, the chaos of ADHD, and the peace sought through it all, Kinga invites the viewer into a deeply human space of emotion and connection. It is a cartography of the internal world, mapping feeling through form. With a strong technical foundation and a growing professional presence, her work has been exhibited in galleries across London and Leeds, attracting collectors worldwide who resonate with her evocative storytelling and tactile approach to the canvas. *** If You Could See Me Now speaks of the path walked inward, the version of ourselves shaped by time, distance, and the unspoken. It is about looking back, not with regret, but with reverence for what it took to arrive here. It holds a sense of presence earned, of wholeness found not in being seen, but in truly seeing oneself. A painting for those who have walked through change and come out softer, clearer, and more their own. *** Please note this painting ships in a tube. If you would like to receive this painting stretched please don't hesitate to reach out; I am happy to provide a shipping quote. Certificate Of Authenticity Attached Textured Abstract Landscape, finished off with metallic gold accents that catch the sun beautifully.
