“Composition for a Guitar”

The work can be read within a contemporary interpretation of the cubist language, where the figure and the musical instrument are constructed through the organization of geometric planes, the structural use of color, and the presence of black lines that articulate and balance the composition.
In Composition for a Guitar I explore the relationship between figure, music and pictorial structure. The guitar appears as the central axis of the composition, organizing space and establishing a visual dialogue between the instrument, the female figure and the different color planes that make up the work.
The painting is built from an architecture of forms where each element finds its place within a balanced structure. The geometric surfaces and color blocks allow the figure and the instrument to integrate into the same visual system, evoking the language of musical compositions where each note participates in the harmony of the whole.
The black line plays a fundamental role in the work. More than a simple contour, it functions as a structural element that defines the shapes, organizes space and gives clarity to the composition. This line acts as a kind of visual skeleton that supports the painting’s architecture.
Color brings rhythm and energy to the whole. Blues, greens, reds and ochres create vibrant contrasts that provide depth and movement to the scene. The visible brushstroke maintains the manual and expressive character of the painting process, reinforcing the artist’s gesture within the work.
More than merely representing a instrument, Composition for a Guitar proposes an image where painting and music dialogue with each other, transforming the pictorial space into a kind of visual score where form, color and rhythm meet in balance.
