Small-format Elzevier edition of the works of the Roman historian Gaius Sallustius Crispus (86–35 BC), printed in Leiden (Lugduni Batavorum) in 1634 by the famous Elzevir printing house, one of the most renowned publishers of the Dutch Golden Age.
This edition contains Bellum Catilinarium and Bellum Jugurthinum, together with Fragmenta Historicorum and an index.

• Engraved allegorical title page signed “Cor. Cl. Duyfent sculp.”
• Engraved portrait of Sallustius
• 310 pages followed by approximately 30 pages of index
• Two blank leaves before the title page
• Small duodecimo format (approx. 13 cm)
• Contemporary vellum binding with handwritten title on the spine
Condition:
Good condition for its age. Vellum binding with normal signs of use and age toning. Interior generally clean with typical age-related paper toning. Engravings clear and well preserved. Structurally sound copy.
A charming and collectible 17th-century Elzevier classical edition, printed in Leiden and highly sought after by collectors of early Dutch printing.
