Get your hands on this serviced 1978 Seiko Type II quartz (Ref. 4336-8000) in exceptional condition with original bracelet, bilingual day-date, and guaranteed functionality.
Model History:
The Seiko Type II series represents an important chapter in Seiko’s early quartz development during the late 1970s. Following the groundbreaking introduction of the Astron in 1969, Seiko rapidly expanded its quartz lineup, and the Type II models were positioned as reliable, high-quality everyday watches with excellent accuracy at a more accessible price point.
The 4336 caliber belongs to Seiko’s second generation of quartz movements, known for improved efficiency, durability, and long-term stability. These watches were primarily aimed at the Japanese domestic market and often feature bilingual day wheels (Kanji/English), as seen here. With their sharp case geometry and refined dial textures, Type II models perfectly capture the transitional design language of the late 1970s, where classic proportions meet emerging quartz-era precision.
