An exceptional and highly decorative Ottoman embroidered purse dating to the 19th century, crafted in silk and richly adorned with metal thread (tel kırma) embroidery.
The front features a detailed architectural representation of the Selimiye Mosque (Edirne), one of the masterpieces of Ottoman imperial architecture, while the reverse is decorated with a stylized imperial tughra motif, symbolizing Ottoman authority and court artistry.
The composition is framed with elegant borders and finished with delicate handmade lace edging, reflecting refined craftsmanship typical of Ottoman personal luxury items.
Such pieces were not merely functional but also status objects, often used by members of the elite or as finely crafted personal accessories.
