Up for auction is a stunning and rare bottle of Black & White "Choice Old Scotch Whisky," bottled between the late 1940s and early 1950s by James Buchanan & Co. Ltd. ​This specific bottling is highly sought after by collectors due to its iconic "Spring Cap" closure, a vintage metal lever system used for high-end exports during that era, which provided a much better seal than traditional cork. The bottle features the "Black & White" embossing on the shoulder. ​Trivia: The blend from this era is significantly different from modern versions, featuring a high content of premium malts from historic distilleries such as Glentauchers and Dalwhinnie.
