Please check the image. The inside of the drawer is covered with a velvet-like red fabric. This is a traditional Japanese Kusuri-dansu 薬箪笥 (medicine chest). The design, featuring numerous small drawers, was developed to allow herbalists and physicians to sort and organize various medicines from the Edo period through the Meiji and Taisho eras. Crafted in wood with iron fittings, it combines functionality with decorative charm. A hidden compartment at the back adds both a playful and practical touch.
