Muse er et engelsk rockband fra Teignmouth, Devon, dannet i 1994. Bandet består af Matt Bellamy (hovedvokal, guitar, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (basguitar, backing vocals) og Dominic Howard (trommer, percussion).

Muse udgav deres debutalbum Showbiz i 1999, hvilket viste Bellamys falset og en melankolsk alternativ rock-stil. Deres andet album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), inddrog bredere instrumentation og romantiske klassiske påvirkninger og bragte dem et ry for energiske liveoptrædener. Absolution (2003) så yderligere klassiske påvirkninger, med strygere på numre som «Butterflies and Hurricanes», og var det første af syv sammenhængende UK-nr. 1-album.

Black Holes and Revelations (2006) inddrog elektroniske og pop-elementer, tydeligt i singler som «Supermassive Black Hole», og åbnede Muse for bredere international succes. The Resistance (2009) og The 2nd Law (2012) udforskede temaer om regeringsundertrykkelse og borgerlige opstande og cementerede Muse som en af verdens store stadionacts. Med deres syvende album, Drones (2015), der toppede US Billboard 200, var det et konceptalbum om drone-krigføring og vendte tilbage til en hårdere rocklyd. Deres ottende album, Simulation Theory (2018), højt lyd blev domineret af synthesizere og var influeret af science fiction og simuleringsteorien. Deres niende album, Will of the People (2022), som kombinerede mange genrer og temaer fra deres tidligere albums, udkom i august 2022.

Muse har vundet adskillige priser, herunder to Grammys, to Brit Awards, fem MTV Europe Music Awards og otte NME Awards. I 2012 modtog de Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement fra British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. Pr. oktober 2022 havde de solgt mere end 30 millioner albums verden over.


XX Anniversary edition with remastered audio, unreleased live versions, demos and photos as well as a new, in depth interview with the band where they discuss the ups and downs of the recording process as well as the social environment they found themselves in which influenced the albums themes. In addition, there is an interview and Q&A with the album’s producer Rich Costey.
