➜ A beautiful statue of an Ancient Egyptian scarab beetle (Scarabaeus sacer), finished in a striking turquoise blue glaze reminiscent of traditional Egyptian faience but actully made from resin. The scarab was one of the most potent symbols of Ancient Egypt, representing the god Khepri, the sun, and the concept of eternal rebirth and transformation.
In Ancient Egypt, scarabs were used as amulets, seals, and commemorative pieces. Their association with the dung beetle, which rolls a ball of dung across the earth, was seen as a terrestrial mirror to the sun god Ra rolling the sun across the sky.
