Origin and period German or Austro-Hungarian manufacture, circa 1890–1910, at the height of the Jugendstil movement. This type of festooned dessert cutlery with vermeil gilding and raised floral decoration was produced by the great German silversmithing houses of the era. Handles in relief with a stylised iris or anemone floral motif, slender stem, pointed navette tip. Trilobate festooned bowls with fine engraved inner decoration (iris, interlaced ribbons), unmonogrammed central reserve. The 800 hallmark guarantees 80% pure silver content in the alloy — this is fully regulated solid silver, equivalent to 925 sterling or French 950 silver. The set contains approximately 261 grams of fine silver. At the current silver spot price (~€1.89/g), the intrinsic metal value alone stands at approximately €490. The asking price therefore remains very reasonable given the decorative and historical value of the set.
