Beskrivelse fra sælger

A Medieval Bronze Ring with Floral Bezel, 13th to 15th Century A.D.

Charming medieval bronze ring featuring a prominent raised bezel in the shape of a four-petaled flower (quatrefoil) measuring approximately 1.7 × 1.9 cm. The bezel is finely decorated with a symmetrical floral or cross-like design in relief. The hoop is relatively thick and shows a beautiful dark patina with attractive areas of lighter bronze and light green verdigris.
Rings with decorative floral bezels like this were popular in Europe during the High and Late Middle Ages. They were often worn as devotional or love tokens, or simply as attractive personal jewelry. The quatrefoil motif is highly characteristic of Gothic art and architecture of the period.

Material: Bronze
Bezel Dimensions: approx. 1.7 × 1.9 cm

Provenance:
Acquired in Germany from a German private collection, formed in the 2000s.
