A Fine Japanese cloisonné enamel vase, Meiji period, late 19th century.
An attractive Japanese cloisonné enamel vase of baluster form, decorated with shaped panels depicting a dragon and a phoenix, set against a deep blue ground. The shoulder and neck are richly decorated with floral, butterfly and geometric motifs, with gilt metal mounts to the rim and foot.
The design is typical of late 19th-century Japanese Meiji-period cloisonné work, with colourful enamels and fine decorative detailing.
Condition: in excellent condition, with only very minor enamel glaze lines and light age-related wear. Please refer to the photos for full condition details.
