Oldtidens Grækenland, hellenistisk Bronze Pilespids (Ingen mindstepris)

Ancient Greek / Luristan Bronze Arrowhead Pendant c. 1st Millennium BC A powerful and authentic ancient bronze arrowhead, attributed to the Greek / Luristan cultural sphere, dating to the 1st millennium BC, later adapted into a wearable pendant. The arrowhead exhibits a classic tri-lobed form with a prominent central blade and well-defined lateral barbs, tapering to a sharp point. This form is characteristic of ancient Near Eastern and Eastern Mediterranean projectile points, valued for both their functional efficiency and symbolic strength. The surface is covered with a naturally developed green and turquoise patina, with areas of mineral encrustation consistent with long burial. The piece has been respectfully mounted with a gold-toned wire suspension, allowing it to be worn while preserving the integrity and visual impact of the ancient artefact. No invasive restoration has been undertaken. Arrowheads of this type were used in warfare and hunting and are now sought after for their strong symbolic associations with protection, precision, and power. Details: Material: Bronze Culture: Greek / Luristan (Western Iran / Eastern Mediterranean sphere) Date: c. 1000–500 BC Weight: approx. 11.8 g Length: approx. 78.5 mm Condition: Very good for age; natural patina and minor age-related wear A striking and evocative ancient object, ideal for a serious antiquities collection or as a bold statement pendant connecting the wearer directly to the ancient world. ***** Dear bidders, please note that we do not ship to the UK or SWITZERLAND or other countries outside the European Union. If you are located outside the EU and win this lot, the sale will unfortunately have to be cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Enjoy the bidding.
