Lysestage (2) - forkromet metal og træ - Modernist/Maskinalderen
A stunning pair of original Art Deco three-light candelabras, dating from the 1930s. These pieces are a textbook example of the Modernist/Machine Age aesthetic that flourished during the interwar period,
Belgium 1930's.
The design features a bold contrast between the warm, dark-toned wooden central pillar and the sleek, C-shaped chrome-plated arms. The industrial-style hexagonal bolts used to fasten the arms to the wood add a touch of "Streamline Moderne" character, making these pieces both elegant and powerful in their appearance.
Style: Art Deco / Modernist.
Period: Circa 1930–1938.
Materials: Chrome-plated metal and solid wood (likely oak or walnut).
Design: Triple candle holders with circular geometric motifs and a sturdy square base.
Quantity: Complete set of two.
The candelabras are in good vintage condition, consistent with their age of nearly 100 years. The chrome shows a beautiful authentic patina with some age-related surface wear which confirms their authenticity.
The wooden elements are solid and well-preserved, showing minor signs of use but no structural damage.
These iconic pieces would make a sophisticated addition to any Art Deco interior or a collection of early 20th-century design.
