Antikkens Rom, Imperie Sigilata Vase - 7.3 cm (Ingen mindstepris)

Three Roman Terra Sigillata Pottery Fragments, 1st–3rd century A.D. Comprising three joining or related sherds of fine red-gloss terra sigillata ware. The largest fragment preserves a substantial portion of the vessel wall and rim, decorated with moulded relief friezes featuring floral, foliate and figurative motifs typical of Gaulish or Italian workshops. The fabric is of excellent quality with a vibrant, glossy red slip, some areas showing slight iridescence and minor wear consistent with age. The two smaller fragments display complementary bands of egg-and-dart, wave and vegetal decoration. These pieces would have originally formed part of a high-quality bowl or cup used for dining or ritual purposes. Measurements of the largest fragment: Height: 7.3 cm. Width: 7.5 cm. Depth: 1.3 cm. Weight (total of the three fragments): 108.19 g. Provenance: Austrian private collection, acquired in the early 2000s. All items come with CoA
