Exceptional Antique German 800 Silver Teapot – “Vettiner” – Ornate Rococo Revival – 438g

Offered is a superb antique German solid silver teapot, crafted in fine 800 silver and bearing the mark “800 Vettiner” on the underside. This piece is a striking example of late 19th to early 20th century European silversmithing, executed in an elegant Rococo Revival style.

The teapot features a beautifully fluted, bulbous body adorned with intricate repoussé and engraved floral and scroll motifs. The craftsmanship is further highlighted by its elaborately cast handle, richly detailed decorative spout, and four ornate feet, giving the piece both stability and a refined presence.

The hinged lid, topped with an elegant finial, opens and closes smoothly, reflecting the quality of construction and careful preservation.

Key Details:
	•	Origin: Germany
	•	Maker/Mark: “800 Vettiner”
	•	Material: Solid 800 silver
	•	Weight: 438 grams
	•	Style: Rococo / Victorian Revival
	•	Condition: Very good antique condition, with light surface wear consistent with age and use. No major damage; hinge and lid function perfectly.

Why This Piece Stands Out:

This teapot is not only a functional object but also a decorative statement piece, embodying the opulence and artistry of its era. The combination of high silver content, substantial weight, and intricate detailing makes it highly desirable among collectors of antique silver.

Comparable pieces of this quality and craftsmanship are increasingly scarce on the market, particularly with clear maker’s marks and in such well-preserved condition.

Estimated Value:

Based on craftsmanship, weight, and market demand, this piece holds an estimated value exceeding €1,200, with strong appeal for both collectors and interior decorators.
