Edition Zufall No. 42 — Cees Andriessen, Chr. Paul Damste & Peter Leidig | Three Original Works with Documentary Material, Signed & Numbered, Cologne 1987 Edition Zufall ("Edition Chance") was an artist's portfolio series published from 1974 by Horst Hahn in Cologne, running to 66 editions over more than two decades. Each issue — presented in DIN A4 format — brought together original works by artists active in the German and international art world, issued in editions of 40, signed and numbered. This is portfolio No. 42, copy 15/40, priced at 90 DM at time of issue. The portfolio contains three original works: Cees Andriessen (1940–2023, Apeldoorn, Netherlands) — O.T. 87. A large-format multi-colour linocut in green, blue, dark navy, and dark red/brown, featuring interlocking abstract geometric forms on a double sheet. Andriessen is considered one of the foremost representatives of non-figurative printmaking of his generation in the Netherlands, with works in the collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and the CODA Museum Apeldoorn. Numbered 15/40, signed. Chr. Paul Damste (b. 1944, Arnhem; lived in Arnhem, Netherlands) — O.T. 87. Original screenprint, abstract, signed and numbered. Peter Leidig (b. 1949, Dieringhausen; lived in Gummersbach) — "Zeichensetzung", 1983. Original drawing in pastel on transparent paper, depicting a dynamic pyramidal form in pink, grey, black and accents of blue and yellow, with energetic linear marks. Signed and dated. Also included is a colour photograph of an installation work by Leidig, serving as additional documentary context for his practice. Also included as documentary material: an undated black-and-white postcard-format print titled "Kopflos", featuring a crescent moon motif. Condition: Very good. Original portfolio folder included.
