The single malt whiskey spent its 15 years of barrel aging entirely in ex-bourbon barrels made of American white oak. The distillery discontinued the Scotch at a strong alcohol content of 43.0 percent by volume. She did without cooling filtration. Nosing: The nose of the single malt whiskey has notes of fresh mint and grapefruit. Behind it lies peat smoke and salt. Caramel is present. Tasting: The Laphroaig 15 Years hits the tongue with spicy pepper. It tastes of peat smoke and has a slight sweetness. A hint of seaweed and tobacco introduces the finish.
