Klokkespil (religion) - Bronze, Shiunzan 紫雲山 Raigōji 来迎寺 Rōshi 老子 - 1980-1990 - Buddhistisk templeklokke 梵鐘

This is a Japanese Bonshō (梵鐘, Buddhist temple bell) with its original stand and wooden striker. The bell features a calm and dignified appearance, with beautifully engraved inscriptions and Buddhist motifs throughout the surface. The following inscriptions are engraved on the bell: 「行基梵鐘」 (Gyōki Bonshō) 「老子作」 (Made by Rōshi / Rōshi-saku) 「紫雲山 来迎寺」 (Shiunzan Raigōji Temple) 「昭和五十五年五月落慶」 (Consecrated in May, Shōwa 55 / 1980) The bell is decorated with elegant reliefs including celestial figures and ornamental patterns, giving it a solemn and spiritual atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Japanese temple culture. When struck with the included wooden striker, it produces a beautiful and resonant sound. Please enjoy its deep reverberation and tranquil tone. Bonshō (梵鐘), also known as tsurigane (釣鐘, hanging bells), are traditional bells used in Japanese Buddhist temples to mark the passage of time, call monks to prayer, and announce ceremonies. In Japan, temple bells are famously rung 108 times on New Year’s Eve to symbolize the cleansing of worldly desires and the welcoming of a purified new year. The bell is substantial for its size and displays an attractive aged patina that enhances its historical atmosphere. This is not only a beautiful decorative object, but also a meaningful piece connected to Japanese Buddhist tradition and spirituality. A wonderful item for collectors of Japanese antiques, Buddhist art, temple objects, or Asian interior décor. Complete Bonshō sets with the original stand and striker are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially examples featuring temple inscriptions, elegant ornamentation, and such a clear resonant sound. With its dignified presence and strong connection to traditional Japanese Buddhist culture, this is a piece that can become the centerpiece of any collection or interior space. Bell Height 15.7 cm Width 10.3 cm Depth 10.7 cm Weight 1190 g Stand Height 26.8 cm Width 13.8 cm Stick Height 28.8 cm Condition: The condition is generally good. As it is a used item, there may be scratches, stains, scuffs, wear, and discoloration. Please see the many photos provided. Atention: The items listed for sale are all used collectibles.
