The woodblocks where damaged, so he didn't complete the full edition of 200. Just a hand full. Very rare work from Mr. Namiki Large work : 330 x 660 mm within the margin. Full size including frame: 550 x 790 mm The work is in good condition. Very rich colours and pigment. It has some light folds. You can see this on the back, but not at the front. It comes in an aluminium frame with anti reflection acryl glass A Contemporary Master. Hajime Namiki was born in 1947 in Tokyo. Although originally trained as a sculptor, he began making wood block prints in 1978. He carves his own blocks and prints each work using traditional methods. These beautiful prints are printed on a gold or silver leaf laid over Torinoko paper. Namiki also uses oil-based paints rather than the more common use of watercolours.
