Fuji XI(富士-11) - Hajime Namiki(並木 一) - Japan

Hajime Namiki — Original Woodblock Print “Fuji-11” | Red Fuji on Gold Ground | Limited Edition 41/200 | Signed & Sealed | Framed 【Description】 An original, self-carved and self-printed woodblock print titled “Fuji-11” by the Japanese printmaker Hajime Namiki (born 1947 in Sumida, Tokyo). Set against a gold ground, it depicts a majestic “Red Fuji” glowing in the morning light — an auspicious motif in Japanese art. The highlights are the soft gradation of the slopes shifting from crimson to deep brown, and the textured rock surface achieved through carving. Namiki studied under the sculptor Ogura Mozan before taking up woodblock printing in 1978. Highly regarded abroad, he exhibited at the CWAJ Contemporary Print Show and was invited to present his work by the Wisconsin Arts Board in the United States.
