A charming bronze okimono 置物 depicting an oyako shishi 親子獅子 (parent and child temple lions) engaged in playful interaction with an openwork ball, called temari 手毬.
The two lions are shown in a lively and affectionate composition, the larger shishi playfully engaging with the smaller one, both interacting with the pierced ball.
Cast bronze patinated brown with intentional rust-coloured accents. In 3 parts.
Mother lion with 2-character name seal on the underside: 'Shôun' 祥雲
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).

Height 19 cm, Width 28.5 cm, Depth 28.5 cm (all three items combined in square set up)
