Up for auction is a nice old vintage full size french violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: LeMarquis doiseaux anno. Also stamped on the back. The total length of the violin is 588 mm, body – 358 mm. Width of the upper bout: 165 mm; middle: 111 mm; lower: 205 mm. There are no cracks or repairs. The strongly flamed two pieces maple back with matched sides, neck and scroll. Medium grained spruce top. Original golden amber varnish. Nice and clean made inlaid purfling. The scroll is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The instrument has new strings, new bridge, good boxwood and rosewood set up. This tonally extremely interesting instrument is now ready to play, and i recommend it highly for its large, warm, sweet and mellow sound full of typically french character.
