Château d’Issan is one of the most historic and prestigious estates in Margaux, holding the distinguished Troisième Grand Cru Classé classification from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. With a history dating back to the 12th century, the château has long been recognized for producing wines of elegance and refinement. Today, the estate is owned by the Cruse family in partnership with Jacky Lorenzetti, whose investments have further strengthened its reputation for excellence. The vineyards are situated on the classic gravelly soils of Margaux, providing ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to thrive. Through meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking techniques, Château d’Issan consistently produces wines that combine finesse, complexity, and remarkable aging potential.

Château d’Issan Margaux 2017 is a beautifully balanced expression of this historic estate and the Margaux appellation. The 2017 vintage offers an elegant aromatic profile, with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, red cherry, violet, cedar, and subtle hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, displaying silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and impressive precision. The blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot delivers both structure and charm, while the long, refined finish highlights the hallmark elegance of Margaux. Already approachable, Château d’Issan 2017 also possesses the balance and concentration to develop gracefully in the cellar for many years to come.
