A large and abstract bronze vase. The vase is of asymmetrical biomorphic form, rising from a flat foot into a sculptural composition of geometric and flowing contours, culminating in a drop-shaped rim. The body is further enriched with abstract relief decoration to the sides. Signed to the underside: ‘Kin’ 均. Period: Japan – circa 1920s Dimensions: Height 37.8 cm, Width 17 cm, Depth 13 cm Weight 4,510 g In very good condition, with minimal wear consistent with age. The body and the copper bottom plate were cast separately and later joined. Please refer to the photographs for a clear impression of the condition. Complete with a wooden storage box 供箱 (tomobako), the lid inscribed Seidô kaki 青銅花器 (bronze vase), and to the reverse Kinka 均化. When shipped, a certificate of authenticity will be included.
