Roland - Effektpedal - Japan - 1973 (Ingen mindstepris)

Brand: Roland Model: AW-10 Wah Beat Type: Wah pedal Made in: Japan Serial number: Not present Colour: Black Early pre-BOSS era Roland effect pedal. This is a Roland AW-10 Wah Beat made in Japan. Based on the original potentiometer date code (July 1973), transistor date codes, jack configuration, and internal component chronology, this pedal is believed to have been assembled in late 1973 or early 1974. Roland Corporation was founded on April 18, 1972, making this pedal an example from the company's earliest years of operation, approximately one to two years after the company's establishment. The AW-10 was produced before the introduction of the BOSS compact pedal series and represents an important period in Roland's early development of guitar-related products. Historical references indicate that the AW-10 was manufactured during the 1973–1978 period. However, the internal component date codes found in this unit strongly suggest that it is an early production example from the initial years of production. This example features the early input/output layout with the INPUT jack positioned on the left side and the OUTPUT jack positioned on the right side. Later AW-10 examples are known to use the opposite jack arrangement. Combined with the internal component date codes, this configuration further supports the conclusion that this pedal is an early production example from the pre-BOSS era. This unit has been carefully cleaned, inspected, and fully tested. Service performed prior to listing: * Complete exterior cleaning * Input and output jack contacts polished and cleaned to remove oxidation The potentiometer used in this pedal is a sealed type and could not be disassembled for internal cleaning without compromising originality. When operating the pedal, a small amount of scratch noise is present. During testing, the noise was only noticeable when the treadle was moved fully toward the heel-down position. Aside from this minor issue, the effect operates normally and remains fully usable. One rubber stopper cushion for the treadle mechanism is missing. The toe-side stopper is absent, while the heel-side stopper remains present. Considering the pedal's age, deterioration and loss of rubber components are not unusual. The missing stopper does not currently affect operation, and the pedal functions normally in its present condition. Overall operation is good and the pedal remains fully functional. This pedal operates exclusively on a 9V battery. Please note: This pedal does not support AC adapter operation by design. It is battery-only. To the best of our knowledge, all components appear to remain original. No replacement parts were found during inspection. Condition: Good vintage condition with scratches, wear, and signs of age consistent with a pedal that is over 50 years old. Please refer to the photos. Based on internal component date codes, jack configuration, and component chronology, dating confidence is high. Based on the potentiometer date code (July 1973), transistor date codes, and early left-input/right-output jack configuration, this pedal is believed to have been assembled in late 1973 or early 1974, making it one of the earliest known Roland effect pedal designs from the pre-BOSS era. A rare and historically significant Japanese-made effect pedal from Roland's formative years, representing the transitional period immediately before the birth of the BOSS brand.
