Wyncraft 1960s Cheese Plate - Mid-Century Modern - Serveringsfad - Træ
Beautiful vintage Mid-Century Modern cheese board produced by the British manufacturer Wyncraft during the 1960s.
Crafted from richly grained teak wood, the board features a sculpted atomic-age silhouette with integrated side compartments housing the original stainless-steel cheese knives. The centerpiece consists of two decorative ceramic tiles adorned with vibrant relief enamel decoration in a striking bullseye-flower motif.
The textured "fat lava" style glazing and warm orange, brown, cream, and grey tones are characteristic of the period and reflect the influence of celebrated British ceramic artists such as Alan Wallwork and Ann Wynne Reeves.
Combining practicality with decorative appeal, this serving board perfectly captures the optimism and bold design language of the Mid-Century era and remains highly sought after by collectors of Scandinavian and British modern design.
Dimensions: 2 x 44.5 x 20.5 cm (height × width × depth)
Weight: approx. 1,25 kg
Condition: Very well preserved clean condition with minor signs of age consistent with age. The ceramic tiles are free from cracks or repairs, the teak retains a beautiful warm patina, and the original knives are present. On the bottom a small burning mark. Not visible from upfront. A true eye-catcher.
A highly decorative and functional piece of vintage tableware, ideal for serving cheese, tapas, or hors d’oeuvres while adding authentic Mid-Century Modern character to any interior.
