An Islamic Bronze Signet Ring, 9th to 13th Century A.D. Impressive Islamic bronze signet ring with a large oval bezel finely engraved with geometric and symbolic motifs. The robust hoop shows a dark, attractive patina with areas of lighter oxidation. The substantial size and quality of the engraving reflect the high level of metalworking during the early medieval Islamic period. Signet rings of this type were used extensively across the Islamic world for sealing official documents, letters, and as personal status symbols or protective amulets.
