Masaichi - Tedåse/æske - Træ - Hinode-nami Design

Item Description This is a natsume, a traditional Japanese tea caddy used in the tea ceremony (chanoya) to store powdered matcha. The piece is finished in fine black urushi lacquer, with the interior of the lid rendered in vivid red lacquer as a striking contrast. The exterior is decorated with a hiramaki-e design depicting a rising sun above rolling waves, executed in gold and silver lacquer with fine linear detailing.
