Dial and Hands
The vibrant deep blue sunburst dial is excellently preserved, presenting a clean surface free of obvious staining or degradation. It features applied silver-tone indices detailed with white central stripes, matching the original silver-tone baton hands. Applied Seiko and LM logos sit on the dial, while a neatly framed day-date window at the 3 o'clock position displays the desirable English and Japanese Kanji calendar. The hands show light, age-appropriate wear, including minor surface oxidation and faint scratches visible under magnification.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case retains its well-defined geometry, exhibiting honest vintage wear. It features brushed top surfaces that transition smoothly into polished flanks, with moderate surface scratches and handling marks consistent with its age. A smooth, polished bezel is cleanly integrated into the overall case design, showing light surface scratches that match the rest of the wear. The watch is fitted with an unsigned knurled crown that sits slightly recessed into the case flank. The flat crystal remains clear, bearing only minor surface scratches and faint dust particles visible under close inspection.

Inside the case is the Seiko automatic caliber 5606A, a 23-jewel movement that presents a generally clean appearance. The striking blue dial is excellently preserved, contrasting beautifully with the lightly oxidized original hands. The movement is running and operational, showing normal visual wear for its age.

Remarks
This Lord Matic stands out for its exceptionally clean blue sunburst dial and the inclusion of its original signed bracelet. The English and Kanji day wheel adds a highly appealing layer of character for collectors of 1970s Japanese watchmaking.
History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line was positioned just below the Grand Seiko and King Seiko collections, offering sophisticated design and reliable automatic calibers to a broader audience. Powered by the widely respected 5600 series of movements, the LM range became known for its slim profiles, varied dial textures, and robust daily performance. Today, these watches are highly appreciated by enthusiasts for their distinct 1970s aesthetic and enduring mechanical quality.
