Oil on panel – Putti in an idyllic landscape
Flemish School, 17th/18th century (attributed)
Charming composition depicting playful putti in a classical landscape, surrounded by attributes such as fruit and musical instruments. The composition and soft modelling of the figures reflect clear influences of the Flemish Baroque tradition, in the manner of artists active in the 17th and early 18th century.
The work is executed on panel and presented in a later decorative frame. On the reverse, there is an old attribution to “Van Thulden” (possibly referring to Theodoor van Thulden), although this remains unverified.
Condition:
In overall condition consistent with age. There is a visible crack in the panel (see photos). Minor wear and craquelure present.
