Hiroshi Sugimoto – ON THE BEACH – IMA Photobooks – Hand-Signed This series was photographed in 1990, while Hiroshi Sugimoto was continuing to work on his renowned Seascapes series. The images feature objects washed ashore and discovered on a beach in New Zealand. Decaying man-made objects lie abandoned on a beautiful, deserted beach. Sugimoto presents them as fragments of a vanished modern civilization, exploring the relationship between time, memory, nature, and civilization through quiet monochrome photographs. This large-format photobook contains all 24 works from the ON THE BEACH series, which were first presented to the public more than 20 years after the photographs were taken. Hand-signed by Hiroshi Sugimoto. ■ Condition: Like New Purchased new and stored without being opened. The outer plastic cover was removed only for photography. The book appears to be in very clean condition overall. Please refer to the photographs for further details regarding its condition. ■ Details - Artist: Hiroshi Sugimoto - Title: ON THE BEACH - Publisher: Amana / IMA Photobooks - Published: 2014 - Language: English - Pages: 68 - Size: 363 × 260 mm - Hand-signed by Hiroshi Sugimoto Please note that while the photographs have been taken as accurately as possible, the actual item may appear slightly different in color due to lighting conditions or screen settings.
