Medieval Islamic Bronze Ring with Lozenge-Shaped Bezel – 10th to 13th Century AD
A bronze finger ring attributed to the medieval Islamic world, probably from the Near East or Central Asia. It is formed with a slender circular hoop supporting a broad lozenge-shaped bezel, decorated with a symmetrical arrangement of raised ring-and-dot motifs and small circular bosses. This combination of geometric organisation and concentric ornament was widely employed in medieval Islamic jewellery and personal adornment, sometimes carrying protective or talismanic associations. The surface preserves a pale green-grey patina, mineral deposits, wear and minor irregularities consistent with age and prolonged burial.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.1 × 1.9 cm
Weight: 3.13 g
Provenance: Acquired in Germany. From a German private collection assembled during the 80’s.
