Roman Bronze Ring with Rounded Bezel – 2nd to 4th Century AD
A Roman bronze finger ring formed with a substantial circular hoop that broadens toward a raised, rounded bezel. The upper surface is heavily worn and mineralised, with only indistinct traces of a possible engraved or impressed motif remaining. Its compact proportions, integrated cast construction and simple signet-like form are characteristic of everyday personal rings used throughout the Roman Imperial period. The surface preserves extensive earthen deposits, dark oxidation and age-related encrustation.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.0 × 1.7 cm
Weight: 2.31 g
Provenance: Acquired in Germany. From a German private collection assembled during the 1980s.
