This bronze incense burner commemorating the awarding of medals in the third year of the Heisei era in Japan was meticulously cast in one piece using the lost-wax method. The double-eared handles, featuring three-dimensional dragon motifs, exude a classic and grand style.
The rim and base are decorated with hand-carved cloud patterns in relief. The front features a sixteen-petaled chrysanthemum design inlaid , while the back is engraved inscription of the year and the recipient of the medal, clearly recording the background of its creation. The lid features a chrysanthemum petal openwork design for fragrance diffusion, complemented by three cloud-shaped feet, combining aesthetic appeal with the practical function.
