Sort tomesode-kimono - Japan - Midten af Heisei-tiden
This is a high-quality Japanese silk black tomesode kimono. The five family crests indicate its formal rank. The hem is extensively decorated with a classic phoenix and treasure ship motif, with the phoenix circling on either side of the ship amidst waves and auspicious clouds. The hem is covered with intricate floral scrolls and utilizes extensive gold leaf and mother-of-pearl inlay techniques, giving the design a luxurious sheen under light.
A red maker's seal is found on the side, serving as proof of the craftsman's handcrafting. The black background exudes a dignified and sophisticated feel, while the hem features a grand and full composition with rich and vibrant colors. It is suitable not only as a traditional Japanese formal dress but also for textile art collection and display.
While some natural signs of aging may appear on the garment over time, its overall condition is excellent.
Kimono display rack not included.
