Norway 100 Kroner 1943 – Norges Bank, Pick P-10c / NP 42C, Serial C.3270100 Norwegian 100 Kroner banknote issued by Norges Bank in 1943, bearing the red serial number C.3270100. This example belongs to the second “Christie” issue and is catalogued as Pick P-10c / Norske Pengesedler NP 42C. The 1943 issue carries the signature of chief cashier G. Meldahl-Nielsen. Large-format paper banknote with a predominantly violet-brown obverse. The front features Wilhelm Frimann Koren Christie at left and Admiral Peter Wessel Tordenskiold at right, together with the denomination “ET HUNDREDE KRONER GULD”. The reverse is printed in red-orange and black, with Håkonshallen in Bergen in the central vignette, a Viking king’s head at left and Norwegian heraldic elements at right. The 100 Kroner Christie type remained in circulation over an extended period, with this 1943 example dating from the German occupation of Norway during the Second World War. The 1943 date and C-series correspond to the P-10c variety. Fine portrait engraving, guilloche ornamentation, serial number and signature remain clearly visible and well defined. Circulated condition. The note shows a distinct vertical centre fold, together with several lighter creases and handling marks. The paper retains good overall structure and complete margins, with slight rounding and wear at the corners. Light age toning and a few small brown spots are visible, particularly near the lower margin and on the right side of the reverse. No major tears, missing paper, pinholes, handwritten additions or repairs are visible in the supplied photographs. Colours remain attractive and the printed details are well preserved.
