About the original car:

In 1952 Ford in Germany brought out the new Taunus designated the G13.
This successor to the hump-backed Taunus with a new type of frameless pontoon bodywork was developed gradually over the following years.
When, at the end of the fifties, the sales figures appreciably dropped, Ford decided to give this range of models the most drastic face-lift in history.
The 1960 car with its 1.2 litre engine received technical refinements, improved suspension and a front that differed conspicuously from that of its predecessors.

The Taunus 12 M appeared with a flat bonnet, but it offered a wide chrome radiator grille with inset indicators. There was less curve on the roof. Inside three large instruments dominated the dashboard. The sides were now clearly distinguished by the contrasting stripe that gave the model its name.
However, the 1172 cc 38 hp side-valve engine that was considered to be technically outdated continued to be used, although with higher compression. The maximum speed remained at 110 km/h.

The striking Taunus 12 M with either the horizontal side stripe or the vertical stripe round the middle, was colloquially known as a “panda car”.
At a time when ownership of a car was still reserved for a select clientele, this Ford was to the taste of the customers: it was a car that had stood the test of time, the engineering was reliable and the maintenance costs were minimal.
The Taunus with the contrasting stripe continued to roll off the lines until August 1962.

Item will be carefully packed and sent with tracking information.
