James Rizzi – TRASH – 3D Silkscreen Construction – A/P – Hand-Signed – Custom Hand-Painted Frame – 1987

Description

An authentic original 3D silkscreen construction by the world-renowned American Pop artist James Rizzi (1950–2011), titled “TRASH” and created in 1987.

This work is an Artist’s Proof (A/P), hand-signed, titled, dated, and numbered in pencil by the artist along the lower margin: “RIZZI ‘TRASH’ A/P 87.”

Created using Rizzi’s distinctive 3D technique, the artwork consists of multiple layers of silkscreen prints that are carefully hand-cut and mounted with spacers, creating a vivid sense of depth and dimensionality. This characteristic technique is one of the defining features of Rizzi’s highly recognizable 3D works.

The artwork is presented in a unique custom hand-painted frame, specially designed to complement the whimsical trash-can theme of the piece. The frame adds an additional playful element and makes the work particularly striking as a display piece.

James Rizzi is celebrated worldwide for his cheerful and highly detailed depictions of urban life, architecture, and popular culture. His distinctive 3D constructions remain highly sought after by collectors and are regularly traded in the international art market.

Artwork size: 6 × 6 cm (image)
Frame size: 37 × 28 cm

Condition

The artwork is in very good condition, with bright colors and clearly preserved 3D layering.

There is minor natural age-related toning on the paper margins, consistent with its age and the creation date of 1987.
