Item Description This is a slender bronze bud vase (ikebana ichirin-zashi, or single-flower vase) produced as Takaoka Doki, the traditional metal casting ware of Takaoka in Toyama Prefecture. Takaoka has been a centre of bronze and copperware production in Japan for over four centuries, and pieces like this one are typically cast in bronze and finished with layered patinated coatings. The vase has an elegant, elongated silhouette: a flared trumpet mouth narrowing into a slim neck before swelling into a rounded, teardrop-shaped body on a small footed base. The surface is finished in a warm copper-orange tone overlaid with a mottled, crackled dark patina, giving each piece a distinctive, organic marbled appearance. A cast mark is visible on the underside of the base. This vase has been used in a home setting and shows general signs of age and handling consistent with a previously owned decorative object. There are no major dents or losses; light surface wear befitting its age can be expected. Please review the photographs closely as part of the condition assessment. Size Height: 28 cm Width: 9 cm Depth: 9 cm Weight 596 g Condition Pre-owned condition with light surface wear and handling marks consistent with age and prior use; no major damage such as dents or cracks is apparent from inspection. Please refer to the photographs for a full visual assessment.
