Seiko - (Overhauled) Type II 4638-8030 - Ingen mindstepris - Mænd - 1970-1979

A BIRTHDAY WATCH IS A WATCH PRODUCED THE SAME MONTH AND YEAR AS YOUR BIRTH MONTH AND YEAR Make: Seiko Type: Analog Quartz Model: Quartz Type II Year of Production: October 1976 Movement: 4623 Quartz Hand and Dial: 3D Baton Indices and Syringe Hands Width: 36.5mm Lug to Lug Height: 41.5mm Thickness: 14.2mm Lug Width: 19mm Strap: Seiko Signed Super Engineer SS Bracelet with Silver Buckle Pouch / Box: Brand-New EVA Type Zipper Pouch Introduced in December 1969, the Seiko Quartz Astron is often credited as the world's first commercially available quartz wristwatch. Quartz watches use a quartz crystal oscillator to keep time, which is much more accurate than the traditional mechanical movements used in wristwatches at the time. The quartz movement in the Astron was incredibly precise, with an accuracy of within 5 seconds per month, far superior to mechanical watches of the era. The introduction of the Seiko Quartz Astron had a profound impact on the watch industry. It marked the beginning of the Quartz Revolution that led to the decline of traditional mechanical watches in the market and the rise of more accurate and affordable quartz timepieces. Seiko's Quartz Astron was showcased at the Baselworld watch fair in Switzerland in 1970, where it received international attention and acclaim because this watch changed horology history forever. Seiko introduced the Type II quartz series circa 1976 as a supposed entry level quartz movement, but its quality had surpassed its price range, thus the market responded and made the Type II series the Seiko watch to own reminiscent of the Casio G-Shock craze of the 90s. For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko Type II 4623-8030 which is one of the most sort after Seiko models; and its silver dial, 3D silver baton indices and hands add class. This is a super scarce and highly sort-after Collectible timepiece. This timepiece was given a thorough servicing, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, and its battery replaced on 4 June 2026. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery replacement thereby providing the owner peace of mind. The crown has been uncorked to prevent battery drainage. This stylish shaped silver case was also given a good clean and rub while maintaining its sharp lines and sexy curves. Most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape. The crystal was polished albeit miniscule scratches do remain. The crown is located at its traditional 3H position and is easily accessible. The case width and height are approximately 36.5mm (without crown) and 41.5mm respectively. The lug width is 19mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 16.5cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women. The bracelet is a high-quality vintage Seiko signed Super Engineer SS Bracelet. The bracelet was thoroughly clean via ultrasonic immersion and was given a good polish afterwards. To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in near mint condition. Even though the seals and gaskets are present / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age. The pictures provided show the watch’s case in excellent condition and well maintained. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead. Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty. Yes, there are many other same models in the market, but almost all are not in the same quality condition and as well maintained as what you see here. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind timepiece will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in October 1976! This is a highly sort-after Collectible October 1976 Seiko Type II 4623-8030 in stunning condition; so, be unique and own an October 1976 Birthday Watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition or purchase it for that special someone instead. Disclaimer: Even though I have tried to take the pictures with natural light, the colour of the watch may differ from the actual product due to various factors such as nature of camera and computer you are using. The pictures showcase the watch from almost all angles possible. We cannot be held responsible if the camera does not pick up a minor imperfection. The calibration was conducted in sunny Singapore where the temperature is mid 30s and the humidity is in the 90s. I cannot guarantee the same performance of the watch in your country. So, I cannot be held responsible for this. Everyone has a different level of expectations when they purchase a product. Please refrain from bidding if you expect perfection for a used vintage watch because any part can malfunction at any time. A final check will be conducted and a video taken to prove the watch performance before the watch is despatched; however, we cannot guarantee and cannot be held responsible if the watch does not perform in your country. Customs duties, import taxes, stamp duties and related fees are the Buyer’s responsibility.
