EU-based professional seller — no import taxes for EU buyers. Get your hands on this serviced January 1968 Seiko 5 DX 5139-7010 with 27-jewel calibre 5139A, silver sunburst dial, Kanji day display, fluted bezel and 3-month guarantee. Model History: Introduced during the late 1960s, the Seiko 5 DX represented a more refined “Deluxe” interpretation of the practical Seiko 5 concept. DX models were distinguished by higher jewel-count movements and more elaborate design details while retaining the everyday functionality associated with the collection. Manufactured in January 1968, this example combines a silver sunburst dial with a distinctive fluted bezel. It is powered by the comparatively uncommon 27-jewel calibre 5139A, part of Seiko’s technically advanced 51-series movement family. Its silver sunburst dial retains a pleasing radial finish and is complemented by applied baton hour markers, faceted hands and a framed day-date display at 3 o’clock. The applied Seiko 5 emblem, DX inscription and “27 Jewels” marking remain clean and clearly legible. The dial is well preserved overall, showing only light patina and minor age-related marks. The Japanese Kanji day display provides a characteristically domestic-market detail and pairs attractively with the black date numerals. The stainless-steel case displays scratches, small marks and general signs of previous wear consistent with its age. Its angular profile and long lugs remain clearly defined. The distinctive fluted bezel is well preserved and gives the watch a refined, elegant appearance. The original acrylic crystal has been polished and remains clear, although very small residual imperfections may be visible upon close inspection. The stainless-steel case back displays surface scratches and normal age-related wear, while its reference and serial-number markings remain clearly legible. A new black leather strap has been fitted. The 27-jewel Seiko calibre 5139A movement has been serviced and is functioning correctly. A 3-month guarantee is provided on its operation. I aim to capture the condition of the watch accurately.
